So, it's been another great season, with a little less episodes than we are used to. But awesome nonetheless! In case you haven't heard yet, season 4 has been announced a little while ago, and there will be 26 episodes just like the first two seasons. There's no known announcement date up until today, but I'll promise to let you know as soon as I find out! (yes I will be uploading the episodes of the fourth season)
Thanks to everyone making use of my blog, it's been an honor. If you have any friends in need of episodes, feel free to direct them here!

DeleteI honestly have no idea how that's happening to you, maybe Youtube improved their copyright sensors? Or it could depend on what you're uploading, I guess they are to sense watermarked episodes more likely.
In case it keeps happening I'd give you a little tip: before uploading, modify the file name in 'Properties', and if that doesn't work you could try mirroring the episodes.

DeleteThe actual episode aired on March 3rd but most of the time I won't be able to upload it until 2 or 3 days after.
If you really want to see it now you should do a search on Youtube, the 1080p should be still available, but with watermarks.

DeleteI also just adore the songs, it adds a very Disney-like touch to the episodes.
And I can't tell anything yet for sure about when I'll be able to upload them, it's also always a surprise to me.
Surprise? haha. I almost had the same experience compared to yours. Hopefully you didn't start tearing up at the end. Just throwing this out, there's a split version with a credits break, and a full just about 45 min. version with no credits break. So if your like looking for whatever, Eh.

Yeah... Hasbro is starting to take these issues a little more serious. But I can't blame them, they are merely defending their rights.
DeleteEither way, my first concerns don't go out to the episodes I uploaded on Youtube. They will always find a better way to protect their website from users trying to upload copyrighted material.
Doesn't mean I won't get to re-uploading the episodes though :D
But for the time being you could just as well download them directly.

ReplyDeleteI have indeed considered this, but I'm afraid it will take up too much HDD space. It would also take quite some time converting all the episodes from MKV to AVI, not to speak of how it will most likely affect the quality in a most negative way :P

If you have any suggestions I would love to hear them.
Another possibility would be to remove the option to download them individually and instead offer to download them in full seasons, in rars. It would already save up a lot of space, but I'm not sure if people are going to like that. Downloading a full season may take up a whole day since my server is not a gigantic dedicated server or anything.
Oh well, I guess I could set up a poll.
I like making pony videos with the episodes you post, but since you started using MKV i've had to convert them to MP4's because my editing software doesn't like MKV.
ReplyDeleteIt's just a minor inconvenience, but i wonder if MP4 is better than AVI in terms of space? If it isn't and MKV is the best way to have them then i don't mind, I'll just do what I've been doing.

I can't tell for sure, but I think MP4's are better in quality than AVI's, which means they'll also take up more space.
DeleteHowever, MKV beats both of them in quality because they are raw files, directly ripped from the iTunes store which offers them in M3V. I'm not sure why it's better, but I believe it had something to do with the codecs being more similar.
Sorry for the inconvenience, but I prefer to keep it this way.

Watermarks are things like the Hub logo and its advertisements.
DeleteThere's also the giant black boxes with TVY and CC in them which appear at the start of every episode and after every commercial break. Technically they're not watermarks, but I still hate them!
